ABOUT CALVIN....

U.S. DIPLOMAT---INTERNATIONAL SPEAKER----AUTHOR------ACTIVIST--------MOTIVATOR

Calvin is a U.S. Diplomat and published author.  Since the age of 8, Calvin has been an active public servant and a powerful public speaker. A former Student Body Vice President at Florida A&M University, he was most recently named the National Oratorical Champion for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Calvin is an internationally recognized speaker and has motivated diverse audiences throughout the world. He has served as keynote speaker for numerous national conventions, graduations, luncheons, church services, rallies, diplomatic missions, banquets and conferences. While sharing the stage with several U.S. Ambassadors, Cornel West, Soledad O’Brien and Roland Martin, Calvin is sure to electrify, energize and empower any audience on a range of topics.

Calvin has represented the United States in Israel, served as a Youth Programs Officer throughout Europe, and acted as a Public Diplomacy and Cultural Affairs Representative in Northeast Africa. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from FAMU with a B.S. in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science. At FAMU, he helped lead thousands of students to the polls on Election Day, brought speakers like Susan Taylor and Ben Carson to his campus, spearheaded lobbying efforts to increase funding for higher education and served as President of the NAACP and Senator in the FAMU Student Government.

  He has worked for the Department of State, United States Congress, Florida House of Representatives and the City of Orlando. Calvin resides in Washington, DC where he recently graduated with his master's degree in International Communication and Public Diplomacy from the American University. Calvin will be traveling to Dhaka, Bangladesh in April 2014 to serve as a Public Diplomacy Officer. 

 

 A commanding orator, Calvin has served as a minister for over five years in churches in Tallahassee, Orlando, and Washington D.C. He is a proud 2006 graduate of Jones High School. He served in the capacity of Mr. Jones High and SGA President. He strongly believes in empowering individuals to reach their full potential by following the will of God.  Calvin is the co- author of  " Chasing the Artificial Rainbow", a book that offers a platform for student success by promoting education, economic empowerment,  and cultural awareness. Calvin lives by the mantra, “In a decisive moment, you can either define the moment or let the moment define you.” Calvin encourages those that he comes in contact with to define every moment.
